      Why we go

Most of life happens between trips. The walk to the coffee shop, the drive up the coast, the long weekend that turns into a plan. What you wear and carry on those days should be ready for the next trip too, and good enough that you stop thinking about it.

That means clothing cut for movement and made to last, in wool and modern technical fabrics. Sunglasses that cut the glare off the water. A GPS watch that logs the walk and warns you when the weather turns. A Swiss Army knife in your pocket that has been there for twenty years.

Buy fewer things, choose them well and look after them. Re-proof the jacket, resole the boots, sharpen the knife. It is the most sustainable way to own gear.

And when the long weekend comes, you are already halfway out the door.

      Questions

      Common questions

Is merino good for everyday wear and travel?
Yes. Merino regulates temperature, stays comfortable across a wide range of conditions and resists odour, so you can wear it for days between washes. It suits travel, the office and the track equally well.
How do I look after a waterproof jacket?
Wash it with a technical cleaner rather than normal detergent, rinse well, and tumble dry on low if the label allows, which reactivates the water-repellent finish. Re-proof it when water stops beading on the surface.
What makes a good everyday carry knife?
Small, light and legal to carry where you are. A Swiss Army knife or a compact multi-tool handles most daily jobs. Knife laws differ between states and territories, so check the rules where you live.
